What is a Pastors place?

I am a growing Christian and am needing some guidance that i dont feel that i am getting at the moment from my pastor, Im kinda confused on what exactly the role of the pastor of a church is and what he is supposed to be there for, I mean I know hes there to teach the word,but when it comes to need guidance in your life, or struggles that you are having problems over coming in your life shouldnt you be able to confide in your pastor for that guidance? Because in our case" some members of my church" feel that us as women should be seeking our guidance form our First lady. There is a lot to the situation that is going on and i really need help with this!!
