What are
Spiritual Gifts that the Holy Spirit may give to you? Aren't
some of them more important than others? These are just two of the questions that you may still have about the Biblical spiritual gifts. In Lesson 1 we learned that all Christians who have received the Holy Spirit have access to Spiritual Gifts. In this lesson, we will find out what the Spiritual gifts are, and they are all so vitally important |
Here is a brief list of the Christian
Spiritual Gifts most discussed in the Bible.
I know, I know! You read through this list
and, instinctively, there are some of those gifts that just seem a bit
more appealing than others .
You may be thinking to yourself, "The ability to help others or give
wise advice? Who'd want those when they could be performing miracles?"
But, when we are the person who needs help or godly advice, we are mighty thankful for the one God has sent to be a blessing to us.
Why are the gifts that we would consider to be the least important the most necessary?
Look at it this way.
How often will you need a prophecy? Someone could prophesy over your life, and that one word from God could be the only one you ever need concerning your destiny.
But leadership, godly counsel, teaching-These are things we need almost daily!
In fact, if you have received a prophecy about your destiny, but have bad leadership and no godly counsel, the likelihood that you will ever see the manifestation of that prophecy is very slim.
Your thumb may appear to be pretty insignificant. But try drinking a glass of water or using a fork to eat your food without your thumb.
The very ability to get vital nutrients to the rest of your body's members would be totally compromised – And all because of such a seemingly insignificant member of your body.
Some spiritual gifts may appear to be less significant, but, without them, like you, the Body of Christ would surely starve.
As the Body of Christ, many of us have forgotten that the greatest among us will be the ones that serve (Matthew 23:11).
Though this gift could be used in so many ways, there are specific callings that require a huge helping of help.
Maybe you feel in your heart that you are called to serve in a battered women’s shelter or a soup kitchen. Or that God wants you to be a nurse or social worker.
There are millions of hurting souls in our world. God loves them all. He uses gifted helpers in the Body to serve them and show them His unyielding love.
Helping is a special gift that enables you to serve and love more deeply than is otherwise humanly possible. Do not neglect this integral Gift of the Holy Spirit.
