About me...
I am a renewed devoted Christian who has learned that you must watch what you open your Bible too!
Date of Entry: 06/20/2008
Scripture:
John 6:15: Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.
My thoughts...
I am currently in the hospital, I have been for almost 3 weeks for a rare blood condition called Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia Purpura. And God is showing me He wants a great relationship with me in so many different ways since I have been here. This morning, I found out there was blood in my stool and they wanted to send me to a stomach doctor to make sure everything was fine. Well, he tells me this while I am reading my daily devotion in my Women's Devotional Bible. He walked back inside and says "Don't Eat Anything." So, I said ok, not knowing exactly what I said okay too. I looked at the verse ABOVE the devotion I was reading in my Bible and it was John 6:15 "He who comes to me will be never be hungry and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." Also, come to find out, I can't drink anything for the procedure either.
I thought, ok, God, I got the point.
Yeah, I thought about food, but I didn't think about it THAT much after I read that verse. It not only kept me physically full, it also kept me spiritually full that everything is going to be just fine. I am to the point to where I am ready to go home, but I also know they are trying to get me well enough to go home.
Ever since I have been here, I have opened up my Bible not to any particular book or anything and the message that is on one of those pages is amazing, it's always about the predicament I am in. If I am down on my faith, my Bible opens up to something about a story of faith or to proverbs with inspirational and encouraging words.
Questions it brought to my mind...
Have YOU ever opened your Bible to see what God is trying to tell you?
My closing prayer...
Heavenly Father, Thank you for granting me patience and faith in your word and reminding me to always be hungry for Your word whether it is opening the Bible or it is a circumstance that just happened. In your heavenly name, Jesus I pray. Amen
