HI,

MY NAME IS ROY. I LIKE TO SEARCH (CHRISTIAN) BELIEVER WEB SITES. I SAW YOUR STATEMENT OF FAITH. I THOUGHT GREAT,SOMEONE WHO ISN'T AFRAID TO CONFESS JESUS CHRIST.AS I WAS READING IT, I CAME ACROSS SOMETHING THAT BOTHERED ME, AND MIGHT CONFUSE OTHERS. IN IT YOU STATE THAT JESUS STOLE THE KEYS OF DEATH AND HELL. THAT IS NOT WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS. REVELATION 1:18 SAYS CHRIST HOLDS THE KEYS TO DEATH AND HELL. TO IMPLY THE HE STOLE ANYTHING WOULD BE MISLEADING TO SAY THE LEAST. JESUS WAS, IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE SINLESS{2COR.5:21}, SPOTLESS{1PET.1:19}, HOLY{LK.1:35}, ECT. PLEASE MAKE THIS CORRECTION. WE WILL HAVE TO GIVE AN ACCOUNT FOR EVERY WORD {MAT.12:36}.

I personally don't believe you were intentionally or any other way saying Jesus sinned. I was just pointing out how some one could misunderstand. I would agree with you that He somewhat forcefully recovered what was His,(keys), from the beggining. I guess we misunderstood each other. Keep up the good work. May the Lord richly bless you.

Hi Roy and Ohiohillbilly,

First off, thanks ohiohillbilly for knowing my heart and my desire to be a blessing and not a stumbling block for anyone. I appreciate your chiming in.

Roy, I am sorry for the confusion behind what I was saying. I was not in any way trying to imply that Jesus was ever sinful.

I do however carry the somewhat controversial belief that Jesus forcefully took the keys to death and hell from Satan who previously held them.

"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that [through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.]"(Hebrews 2:14-15)

"[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross]." (Colossians 2:15 AMP)

"And the Ever-living One [I am living in the eternity of the eternities]. I died, but see, I am alive forevermore; and I possess the keys of death and Hades (the realm of the dead)." (Revelation 1:17-18 AMP)

I did not mean the word "stole" as one would say of a thief. I used it because it is the best word available to capture the forcefulness with which our Savior took back our freedom from death from the real thief Satan. As the scripture I quoted from Hebrew's states, Satan was the one in possession of the power of death prior to Jesus going to the cross. Through going to the cross Jesus took back that power to free us.

I hope that clears up that misunderstanding. Because I do not want to be a stumbling block or to cause anyone to be confused, I will reword the statement. That is not because I do not believe it as I wrote it, but because I do not believe it as you have interpreted it and I would hate for someone else to misunderstand my heart and intentions.

i am going to research this and would like to know what version you used to make your statement? your statement shows plainly that you follow GOD'S WORD, that you believe all the statements mr. meeks made, so i feel it is either a mis quote which we all makw, is from a translation which words it that way; in which case we can make a study of the greek and hebrew to see how closely it is or is not. in either case it is plain you are following GODS WORD and would not ever mislead anyone! if it is a true boo-boo i know you would be the first to acknowledge and change iot!! GOD BLESS YOU, i hope what i feel led to do ,check it out thoroughly before agreeing or dis agreeing meets with your blessing.
