Psalm 23 Bible Study by Randall Roberson...
About me
My name is Randall,I am a preacher and Sunday school teacher. I love sharing the word of God with whoever and in any manner possible. I try to make it understanding and as simple as possible so any one can learn.
Scriptures: Psalm 23 Vs. 1 and 2
The Lord is my shepherd;I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
My thoughts...
When we are going through life as a christian, sometimes we face difficulties and our minds tend to wander away from the things that God wants us to keep in them. But when we can understand how, even in our trials, to give all our problems to God and make Him first in our lives and in our minds, then our Lord can become our shepherd and lead us,like a sheep is led by an earthly shepherd, back to Himself.
By doing this we can see how the second part of vs.1 can be applied.
"I shall not want." We will not lack anything spiritually because God will give it to us.
In vs.2 the first part,we see how God will supply all of our spiritual food, like the earthly shepherd supplies food for his sheep.
And in the second part, he gives us peace of mind, like the peacefulness we find by sitting near a running stream or river.
God has renewed our minds by the rebirth we had when we accepted Jesus as our Lord. He doesn't want our minds to be cluttered by the things of the world, but to be always on the things of God and how we can help to further His Kingdom and help others along our path of life.
Remember what Jesus said in Mathew 6 vs.33 "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
If we constantly seek God's guidance and put Him first in everything then all our worries, problems and concerns can be laid at His feet, not to be taken back by us,and He will handle it for us if we only trust Him. God be praised forever!
