Dissappointment and brokenness

How do you counsel a person that has faced one disappointment after another? Especially broken relationships, death of loved ones, and sickness. This person tells me they believe in God. But they really don't have any excitement or hope in life because they know God will end up doing what He wants and this does not give them a feeling of safety.

I know what they are dealing with

I personally have been through those same trials and eventually God changed my heart. I dealt with depression (to the point where I considered suicide). It changed my heart. I realized there was a reason for the suffering and that suffering is suppose to bring us to God not away. Pray that God will open their heart to what His word has to say and that God will change their heart. It will take time. I have been a weak Christian for almost 14 years it wasn't until 3 months ago that God changed my heart and helped me accept any suffering I deal with. I also learned that we can't ask God to take it away (because there is a reason for it and in most cases it won't.) but to just SHOW UP and bring us through it. And He WILL! I will pray for your friend and I hope this has helped. :) God bless.

DISSAPPOINTMENT AND BROKENNESS

THE BEST YOU CAN DO IS CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR YOUR FRIEND AND TRY TO BE A GOOD LISTENER.THE DEVASTATION OF ALL SHE HAS GONE THROUGH MAY HAVE SET HER BACK TO A PLACE SHE DON'T EVEN RECONIZE SO OF COURSE YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW SHE COULD ACT THE WAY SHE DOES.PAIN AND DISSAPOINTMENT CAN CAUSE ALL KINDS OF FEELINGS AND ACTIONS,BUT GOD TOTALLY UNDERSTANDS ALL SHE IS GOING THROUGH AND HE WILL BRING HER OUT I DO KNOW THAT FOR I HAD A MAJOR BATTLE IN THIS SAME FEILD.GOD MADE US A PROMISE THAT HE WOULD ALLOW ONLY WHAT'S NECESSARY 1 PETER1:6;7 AND AS WE STAND ON HIS WORD HE WILL DO MORE THAN ENOUGH,EVEN THOUGH SHE MAY NOT SEEM TO KNOW GOD AT THIS TIME GOD KNOW THOSE WHO BELONG TO HIM AND HE WILL NOT DENY HIS OWN.PRAY FOR YOUR SELF TOO THAT GOD WLL LEAD AND GUIDE YOU AS TO WHAT MORE HE WOULD HAVE YOU DO.YOU ARE BOTH IN OUR PRAYERS..
