What was the point of the creation of woman?
That is what we talked about in the first few lessons of the Free Virtuous Women's Bible Study Course:
Lesson 1: The Creation of Woman: Why Did God Even Bother?
Lesson 2: Creation of Woman: The Help meet Dilemma
Here are Annie's thoughts on the creation of woman:
I am happy that GOD decided that His creation needed us to be complete and that we are also complete by being part of the whole! In HIS wisdom HE made us partners and each was given their part to play: A slave we are not, simply a provider man is not.
We are each given unique roles and are admonished by GOD in HIS word just how we are to work and treat one another! Man's logic complements our sensitivity and vice-versa. Would that I always understood and followed HIS teaching on this but sometimes!!!!lol!!
It is good to know HE understands and has a sense of humor!
So, what do you think about the creation of woman?

1. How does it feel to know that you were God's answer to His problem?
I feel a great sense of honor to be the answer to God's problem.
2. Are there times in your life when you have felt like being a woman was more of a problem than an answer? Why or why not?
Yes, b/c so much responsible is laid on the shoulders of being a woman now days (being a mother, wife, an employee, a student in college, etc.). And sometimes all the responsibilities that I mentioned are at the same time.

Evelyn's response to our lesson on "The Creation of Woman...Why Did God Bother?"
Knowing that I was an answer to God's problem, rather than an after-thought, really changes the way I look not only at myself, but the world around me. My part in this life is much bigger than I thought and I am grateful for that.
I was married young, and had little experience "taking care of things" so my husband, being the strong leader in our home has always had that role. I have sort of stood on the sidelines. I have watched him keep our family together in so many ways.
I know that we are supposed to be partners, and for most of our marriage I have blamed him for pushing me out.
The truth is I never tried.
I let him have the responsibility, it was easier that way. I know now that my lack of participation is my own fault, and my issue to deal with.

In Lesson 1: The Creation of Woman: Why Did God Bother, we learned about why God made woman. Here are Debs thoughts on the Bible study reflection questions:
1. How does it feel to know that you were God's answer to His problem?
To be God's answer to a problem is scary. I feel the pressure to have to fill the answer by performance. I have to live up to God choosing me.
2. Are there times in your life when you have felt like being a woman was more of a problem than an answer? Why or why not?
I don't have a problem with being a woman. I like being a woman. If there was a problem, my being a woman was not one of them.

1. Has the term 'help meet" ever bothered you? Why or why not?
Yes. In our Sunday school, we are in Genesis 2 and those words bothered me in a way that lead me to do this research. I wanted to know what is my real role in this relationship.
2. What changes about the way you see yourself when you meditate on the idea of being an ezer?
I've tried my best to be there for my husband of 15 years but, I still want to know what "help meet" really means in the Biblical context. Now, I realized that I'm also created to fix whatever problems/challenges my husband has; GOD reminded me that being his help meet I need to find a way to help him with his endeavors and GOD-given desires. I believe GOD is saying to me that everything will be okay go ahead and help him.

There are times I wonder why God made women, when we have to struggle to get respect and to be worthy.

What is woman's place in God's Plan? We talked about that in the "Why Did God Make Woman?" Bible Study:
Lesson 1: The Creation of Woman: What Was the Point?
Lesson 2: The Help Meet Dilemma
Here are some wisdom filled words that Gayle had to share:
I have always been proud to be a woman and to have been made as the Bible says a help mate to man. I find that society seems to be more at ends with women now than ever before.
Women have such a wonderful place in God's plan, in the family, in the home, and in society itself. I think we have just forgotten what God intended for us and our whole society suffers for that.

I believe God put woman here to help the man gain power. We are the bringers of life we bring life to man when under submission to God.

In Lesson 2 of the creation of woman, The Helpmeet Dilemma, we talked about woman's place in God's plan. Here is one Christian woman's reaction:
It makes me feel good to know that women are important to God and that we have a place He holds dear to His heart.

What is the point of womanhood?
In our society, it seems like most women are trying to trade in their femininity for more masculine traits. But, what exactly does it mean to be a woman anyway?
To cook and clean?
To raise children and take care of your husband?
And, what about single women? Are they less important to God's plan because they don't have a spouse?
When God originally decided to make us, what do you think His plan really was?
Do you think that we are starting to lose site of that original plan?

In our Creation of Woman Bible study, we talked about God creating woman as the answer to His problem. Here is Lorna's response to that lesson...
1. How does it feel to know that you were God's answer to His problem?
It feels very good to know I am the answer to the Lord's problem as many Christians can get confused and "blame" women for the original sin. Forgetting that Adam was to be the head of his wife and never once did he discourage her from wrong doing.
2. Are there times in your life when you have felt like being a woman was more of a problem than an answer? Why or why not?
I have always felt that being a women was the "answer" to what my husband, family, career needed. First. I see my husband very good for what his is good for and vise versa for myself and together we make a perfect fit where I am weak he is strong and vise versa. Some of the things that make up my "womanhood" are the things that keep my household running. As far as my career is concerned I am a nurse so part of my female make up is needed to do my job. For example the woman's innate need to nurture has to be present to nurse. This is not to say that a man can't nurture or all women jump out of the womb looking for people to take care of, however it has been my experience that most women do tend to have that trait one way or the other as it can be used in our roles in the household.

In Lesson 2 of our, Creation of Woman Bible Study we talked about the word "Ezer" - the word translated as help-meet. We found that "Ezer" means much more than help-meet. In fact, it implies strength and destiny.
Here is Juli's answer to our Creation of Woman Bible Study Questions.
