One of the biggest challenges that we as Christians face is controlling our emotions. In our Bible study How to Control Emotions we talked about how to begin mastering the way we think and feel, and bringing them into submission to God's will.
Here is what Lynette had to say in response to that lesson:
1. Which emotions do you need God's help controlling the most?
The emotions of worry and fear.
[2. Why do you think God says that "he who rules his own spirit (is greater) than he who takes a city" (Proverbs 16:32 AMP)?]
Ruling your own spirit is operating within God's plans for us to overcome the devil.
3. Have you ever been shocked by the emotions that Jesus displayed in the garden of Gethsemane? Why do you think God chose to include this scene in the Bible?
Yes - to teach us that thou Jesus walked in the flesh, yet he did not sin.
4. Why do you think Satan tries to manipulate our emotions? What are ways that you can stand against him when he tries those tricks on you?
Satan tries to manipulate our emotions to try to defeat us away from God's plan and purpose for us. Kneel and pray for strength from the Father.
